2021 was an eventful year for many reasons and we really wanted to share some of the fantastic work that has taken place as part of the Furthering Talent programme…
Read moreFirst made in 2017, this Award is established in memory of Rose Walker, a talented young woodwind player and singer. It will benefit woodwind players from London and is jointly funded by Rose’s friend Ayanna Witter-Johnson and her family, to honour all the joy that Rose brought to many people, through her music.
Rose showed a huge talent for music from a very early age. She started playing piano and saxophone whilst at Primary School, and later learned very quickly to play the bassoon. She loved opera and gained a place at Trinity College of Music to study singing.
Rose benefited from attending Pimlico School in London, where she was part of the Special Music Course and it is fitting that this award bears her name as she received so much musical support whilst at Pimlico.
Rose was also a keen sports person and throughout her childhood played football for Leyton Orient Girls, swam for Newham swimming club and belonged to Britannia Judo Club. She loved skiing, but sadly died in a skiing accident whilst in her second year at Trinity.
The Award fund supports woodwind players from London.
Applications for this Award should be made via the normal application procedure.
