Music has always been a very important part of my life. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to learn both the violin and piano from a young age and later studied music to degree level at the University of Surrey. I have since forged a career in arts administration, gaining experience in small and medium sized charities.
I am delighted to have been appointed Assistant Director at AYM and look forward to being part of such a passionate and committed team. I share AYM’s belief that everyone should have the chance to develop their musical ability, regardless of financial or social barriers. As Assistant Director I take on responsibility for the annual Awards programme, will be working to build our fundraising capacity, developing the volunteer programme and supporting our communications, particularly AYM’s social media presence.
I have previously worked as General Manager and Youth Orchestra Coordinator for Grand Union Orchestra, an East London based world/jazz collective, and as Concerts Coordinator for Music in Hospitals, a national arts and health charity.
In my spare time I am a keen amateur musician and play violin with Haslemere Symphony Orchestra.
