2021 was an eventful year for many reasons and we really wanted to share some of the fantastic work that has taken place as part of the Furthering Talent programme…
Read moreWe were thrilled to welcome Ella McCoshan to our Board of Trustees earlier this year. Ella is an Alumna of our Awards programme, having previously been supported by AYM with the Robert Lewin Scholarship.
She is the third Alumni to join our board, following in the footsteps of our first ever trustee Caius Lee and current Trustee Mahaliah Edwards. She is also the second addition to the board this year, joining the multi-talented Ayanna Witter Johnson, who was appointed to the Board at the beginning of 2022.
In her role as Trustee, Ella will bring her experience as a young musician to AYM’s governance. Ella says:
“It is a privilege to be joining the board during a time of particular volatility within the arts and education sectors, when the work of AYM is all the more crucial and impactful.
Their support opened numerous doors for me that would have otherwise been out of reach: from being able to purchase my beloved French horn, to providing performance and mentoring opportunities.
AYM is a catalyst for building confidence, something which enabled me to dive into the world of amateur and semi-professional orchestral playing, and which profoundly impacted my non-musical life too. It was fantastic to re-engage with the work of AYM in 2021 as part of their peer mentoring programme Talent to Talent!
I am really looking forward to giving back to an organisation which has given me so much, and I can’t wait to support the ins and outs of all things AYM!”
