Furthering Talent: End of Year Review 2021
2021 was an eventful year for many reasons and we really wanted to share some of the fantastic work that has taken place as part of the Furthering Talent programme…
Read moreIn March 2019, Dame Hilary Boulding hosted AYM at the President’s House, Trinity College Oxford, for an intimate fundraising concert.
AYM Angels and donors from across Oxfordshire came together with invited guests interested in learning more about our work, for a musical evening including performances by three AYM Award winners.
Matias (cello), Cerys (harp) and Orchid (violin) performed a varied programme including Elgar’s ‘Salut d’Amour’, Natra’s ‘Harp Sonatina’ and Gluck’s ‘Melodie (from Orfeo ed Eurdice)’.
Cerys and her Mother Pat had travelled from Llanybydder, Wales, to perform at the event. After Cerys’s performance Pat spoke to the audience, giving some insight into the joys and challenges that come with supporting an exceptionally talented young musician. She reflected on her experience of the day:
“What an amazing 24 hours that will stay in our memories forever. Many thanks to AYM for the invitation for Cerys to play, it certainly was one of the highlights for her and me so far. I was happy to chat to the guests, as I feel it’s important that potential donors hear from the ‘horse’s mouth’ the impact of your good work… The personal touch of such an amazing charity is really unique to AYM where we genuinely feel welcomed, respected and nurtured.”
We would like to express our sincere thanks to Dame Hilary Boulding and her team at Trinity College. Hilary was an exceptionally generous host and even treated guests, including the Mayor of Oxford, to a guided tour of the College’s chapel.
