One donation,

twice the impact!

The Big Give Christmas Challenge returns! Any donations made to our appeal between 12 noon on December 3 and December 10 will be doubled until we reach our fundraising target of £85,000.

In 2023 we exceeded our fundraising target of £70,000! Including match funding and Gift Aid, we raised an incredible £81,560! Thanks to the generosity of our supporters we continue to help even more young people, so they don't have to give up their pursuit of a musical future.

If you believe that nothing should stand in the way of a talented young musician reaching their potential, we’d be delighted if you’d support us. If you'd like to donate during The Big Give please fill in the pledge form and we'll be be in touch with info on how to double your donation.

If you have any questions about fundraising, feel free to get in touch with our Development Administrator Katherine at [email protected].

For many young people music is everything.

Music supports them through tough times and brightens their great times. Music helps them build communities, learn empathy, and understand the world and their place in it. Music is gift which truly enriches their lives.

But not all children have the opportunity to discover their love of music, or to build on their potential.  A simple lack of money can prevent them from picking up an instrument or continuing their education. Sometimes, they have the ambition and desire, but nowhere to turn to for practical support.

Making music is a joy which should be available to all children. We believe that all young people should have the opportunity to explore their potential, creativity, and talents. Their financial circumstances shouldn’t hold them back.

Young Sounds is here to ensure that children and young people can continue their musical journeys wherever it leads them in life - whether it’s onstage, backstage, in the audience or beyond. We’re here to encourage and nurture young people so they can take the lead in their musical education.

Through our Thrive Programme, we support over 300 young instrumentalists, songwriters, composers and producers each year. We provide both financial support, for whatever musical costs they need most help with, and musical experiences so they can develop their potential and reach their musical goals.

More and more young people are applying for support as the cost of living crisis continues to place greater demands on family finances. We don’t want any young people to slip through the net and not receive the support they deserve. We now need your help so we can give meaningful support to all the talented young people who need us.

If you believe that music is an important part of every child’s education…

If you love music and want to ensure its future…

If you experienced a musical childhood which led to a music-full life, and want today’s children to have the same experience…

we hope that you will donate. Whatever you give, your gift will help young musicians, so they do not have to give up their pursuit of a musical future.
