Attune 2022: A London Journey
Sunday 20 November 2022 saw the final rehearsal and sharing performance of our 2022 chamber music project ‘Attune’. Friends and family were invited to the Angela Burgess Recital Hall to hear nine AYM supported young musicians perform as a chamber ensemble for the first time.
Funded by the Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation, Attune is run in partnership with City of London Sinfonia and the Royal Academy of Music. The project took place over four days with support from post-graduate students from the Royal Academy and professional musicians from City of London Sinfonia.
Headed up by double bassist and long-time AYM collaborator Paul Sherman, this year’s project was entitled “A London Journey”. It introduced the young musicians to four pieces of baroque chamber repertoire by composer who all lived in London. Through games and rehearsals, the young musicians were given time to develop the musical and social skills essential to becoming sensitive and effective chamber musicians and were guided in new ways of listening and raising their awareness of musical detail.
